The Recipes of Fall: Amish Noodles

Looking for a comforting side dish? Noodles are a favorite in our area, and this recipe is sure to delight. Pair it with your favorite entrée – it also makes a great addition to your Thanksgiving meal!

Amish Noodles

Ingredients:

  • 1 can cream of chicken soup
  • 1/2 stick butter
  • 3 heaping T. chicken base
  • 1/2 T. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. pepper
  • 2-1/4 qt. water
  • 1 lb. noodles

Combine all ingredients, except noodles, and bring to a boil, stir well. Add noodles, bring to a boil again. Turn off the burner and place cover on kettle. Allow to set for 1 to 1 1/2 hours. Stir and serve. Serves 8 to 10.
