Swiss Cookies or Swiss Bon Bons

Ingredients

  • 1 c. butter
  • 1 1/2 c. powered sugar
  • 1 beaten egg
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 1/2 c. flour
  • 1 t. soda
  • 1 t. cream of tartar
  • Nuts or maraschino cherries for the tops

Instructions

  1. Cream butter and powered sugar.
  2. Add remaining ingredients and beat thoroughly.
  3. Chill dough 1 hour.
  4. Make soft balls, flatten slightly. 
  5. Top with nuts or cherry halves.
  6. Bake at 350 for 8-10 minutes.
