Cheesy Mac Skillet

Pan Used: 10 to 12″ cast iron skillet

  • Yield: Serves 6 to 8 people 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 to 1-1/2 lbs ground beef
  • Salt and pepper
  • 2 C. elbow macaroni
  • 3/4 C. water
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 2 tsp. chopped garlic
  • 126 to 32 oz. can spaghetti sauce
  • 2 C. shredded Cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. Brown hamburger with onions, salt, pepper and garlic in iron skillet on stove top.
  2. Add macaroni, spaghetti sauce and water. Cover and cook over medium heat until macaroni is tender, about 15 minutes, stirring often.
  3. When tender, turn off stove and stir in 1-1/2 cups of cheese. Sprinkle remaining 1/2 cup on top and cover with lid for 5 minutes to melt.

Notes

Optional: Add chili powder and green peppers for chili mac.
Optional: Add pepperoni and replace 1 cup cheese with 1 cup of mozzarella cheese for pizza mac.
