Mennonite ‘Wine’

Many Mennonite groups do not drink alcohol; this refreshing, non-alcoholic slushy beverage is popular at summer gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 112 oz. can frozen concentrated grape juice
  • 16 oz can concentrated orange juice
  • 1/4 c. lemon juice
  • 1 1/2 c. water
  • 1 c. white sugar
  • 2 liters ginger ale

Instructions

  1. Mix grape and orange juice concentrates. Add lemon juice.
  2. In a small saucepan, heat water and sugar until sugar dissolves. Add to rest of ingredients. Mix well.
  3. Add ginger ale and serve over crushed ice.
