Looking for fun and educational activities to do with your homeschooled children? Look no further than Lehman’s! Every Tuesday from 9:30am-11:30am, January through March, we will host homeschooled children to educate them on the basics of simpler living with hands-on activities and presentations.

We’re very excited to offer an all new Homeschool Days curriculum this year. In addition to Lehman’s own expert staff teaching your children about apples and Aladdin lighting, we’ve added four new classes including “Farm Boy: Past and Present,” “Trees, Please,” “All Things Birds,” and “Soil and Rocks.”

January 8
Homeschool Days 9:30AM-11:30AM
We are excited to welcome Karrie McAllister from the Wilderness Center to Lehman’s to teach you all about trees! Trees, please! Trees provide us with so many gifts. In this session we’ll learn how we use trees, how they grow, and how to identify some of Ohio’s most common types. After a game to understand how difficult it is for a tree to mature, we’ll plant one to take home.
January 15
Homeschool Days 9:30AM-11:30AM
Farmer Boy: Past and Present -Homeschooling and homesteading mom, Karen Geiser and her 10 year old son, Obie will share history and activities from Farmer Boy by Laura Ingalls Wilder along with adventures and projects of a modern farm boy. We will be churning butter, grinding wheat, learning about some of Obie’s farm projects, trying out spinning gourds and more.

Learn all about apples with hands-on activities and expert knowledge by Amy Murray. PLUS learn the science and history behind Aladdin lamps by Lehman’s own Mr. Chuck!
Maple Syrup Class

$10 per person
Lehman’s own Roger Myers will demonstrate how to create homemade maple syrup. Learn hands-on what it takes to have your own, naturally-made syrup at home! Roger will describe the best types of trees to tap, how to tap, equipment needed, cooking, and cleaning. You’ll learn the whole process!
