This month Lehman’s Country Life caught up with Amy, the Category Manager of our store’s kitchen department. Amy is a familiar face around our store and can often be seen demonstrating how to use our many kitchen products (including the food dehydrator seen above). Today she’s sharing with us a little about herself.
1. How long have you worked at Lehman’s?
I started working in 2010 as a Customer Service Representative. Presently, I am serving as Category Manager in the Kitchen department.
2. What is your favorite Lehman’s product and why?
Do I really have to pick just one??? I have a lot of favorites… All-In-One-Kitchen Tool – it looks good on the table for serving. It also works well for stir fry in another one of my favorites Cast Iron Square Skillet. I like this skillet because of its unique square shape and versatility. I have used it for stir fry, roasted vegetables and apple pie! It works great in the oven, on the stove top or on the table for serving.
3. What homesteading or Lehman’s skill do you do outside of work?
My husband and I are “wood chip” gardeners. We also have a wood burner, and we can and freeze our garden produce.
4. What advice do you have for people who are just starting to can?
Start easy…applesauce or tomato juice. Come and visit us at Lehman’s, take a beginner class or talk with me.
5. Fill in the blank. I’m passionate about _____________.
People. I want to encourage all the folks I meet to enjoy life, try new things and live up to their potential.
6. What is your favorite family tradition?
Cooking and sharing meals together. We like to set a beautiful table, sit and eat and have lots of family conversation. We are empty nesters, however, when the kids come home, family meals are still a highlight. We have a tradition of sharing our “highs” and “lows” of the day as we share our meals together.
7. What is your favorite motto or personal mantra?
I have been inspired by the words of Paul from Hebrews, “Spur one another on toward love and good deeds.”
