Pumpkin Pie Stuffed Apples + 4 Baked Apple Recipes

When the air turns crisp and the leaves start falling, nothing says “comfort” quite like baked apples. They’re warm, naturally sweet, and versatile enough to dress up for dessert or keep simple for a wholesome snack. If you’ve got a basket of fresh-picked apples sitting on the counter, here are five irresistible ways to bake them up this season—including a standout recipe for Pumpkin Pie Stuffed Apples.

Classic Cinnamon Sugar Baked Apples

The simplest—and perhaps most nostalgic—version starts with halved apples sprinkled with cinnamon and sugar. Bake until tender, and you’ll have a dish that tastes just like the inside of apple pie without the crust. For a little extra indulgence, add a pat of butter on each apple half before baking. Serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for a timeless treat.

Oatmeal-Crumble Baked Apples

Want your baked apples to double as a hearty breakfast? Fill them with a mixture of oats, brown sugar, butter, and a sprinkle of cinnamon. The oats crisp up in the oven, creating a sweet, crunchy topping that pairs perfectly with the tender apple. Try drizzling with a touch of honey or maple syrup before serving for a morning pick-me-up.

Nutty Cranberry Baked Apples

If you love a sweet-tart combo, this one’s for you. Hollow out apples and stuff them with dried cranberries, chopped walnuts or pecans, a drizzle of honey, and a pinch of cinnamon. As the apples bake, the cranberries plump up and the nuts toast, creating a festive filling that’s just as welcome at a holiday dinner table as it is for a cozy night in.

Savory Baked Apples

Baked apples don’t always have to be sweet! Try filling them with a savory mixture of cooked sausage, breadcrumbs, sage, and onion. Bake until tender, and you’ve got a flavorful side dish that pairs beautifully with roasted chicken or turkey. It’s a fun twist that works especially well for holiday meals.
